Retwisting Session

Okay, so I decided to try retwisting midweek since I'm doing bi-weekly wash days. Since baggying has been working to keep my hair moisturized without so much manipulation, my twists weren't in dire need of being retwisted, but I decided to anyway just so that my twists could look fresher and have more moisture implemented to last it another week. This is how they were looking pre-retwist session (I had them in a high bun today though)...

So, before hopping in the shower, I did a scalp massage for a couple of minutes to break up any loose dirt. Then I hopped in the shower and allowed my hair to become soaked with water while keeping the twists in.

Then, out of the shower, I also kept my hair in the twists until after I finished moisturizing and sealing. I did this by misting my hair down with aloe vera juice (yes I invested in a huge 12 gallon jug this time lol) and then I applied the Aubrey Organics GPB conditioner from the middle to the ends of my twists. After that, I coated my hair with more of the mystic divine's nourishing conditioner and sealed that in with castor oil.

After my hair was thoroughly moisturized, I then went and re-twisted each twist. Basically just take the twist apart, make sure that the part is cleaned and not matting together and just barely finger detangle the twist and retwist it.

All in all, the process took probably about 45 minutes at the most to complete and my hair looks much better and ready to go another week!

But of course, my hair is currently pinned up and underneath a plastic bag so that I can baggy overnight. I think this is still working out for me, I haven't noticed any negative items yet from doing this so I hope it's a step in the right direction.

But until next time,

♥ Keep calm 'n coily ♥
