Initial Reactions:

Just from using their deep conditioner, I was already trusting of these two products and that they would meet expectations as well. I've been looking for a leave in conditioner and I ultimately got the smoothing oil because Sally's was having a Buy 2 Get 1 Free sale lol.

The Nourishing Leave In Conditioner is from a different line so the smell is different. It smells more soapy in my opinion but still relatively similar as far as soft tones go. And because it came in a taller bottle with the spray nozzle I just assumed it was going to be liquidy and more water-based but it is actually very creamy in nature... Which I don't mind. Creamy conditioners for me means slip and it made my fingers feel really soft. I was excited to use this product already!

Now the Luminous Shine Smoothing Styling Oil comes from the same line as the Luminous Masque deep conditioner, so the smell is very similar if not sweeter. This oil has a very potent scent which I don't feel is overpowering, but it's definitely more THERE than the deep conditioner was. And honestly, it has a very subtle cologne scent in my opinion. Regardless of what it is, I really like it. The oil color is like a tan brown, copper maybe? But it goes on a clear soon as you rub it in.

Normal Routine:

So I used this to put in my medium chunky twists for this week. Normally for this I would just leave in the deep conditioner, seal it with castor oil and move on.

For this routine though, I still did not rinse out the deep conditioner (I just can't be bothered to do that final step ya'll lol). My hair was in the 4 chunky twists as it normally is. So I took down one twist at a time, sprayed about 8 pumps of the Nourishing Leave In Conditioner at a time in my hands and then applied it to the section. I used about 16 pumps on each section, 8 pumps at a time. :)

After that, I then sprayed about 4 pumps of the Luminous Shine Smoothing Styling Oil in my hands and then applied it to my hair. I only used about 4 pumps on each section just to seal in the moisture.

After that I proceeded to twist up as I normally do, about 5-6 twists in each section and then I was done.

Finishing Up:

After finishing twisting up my whole entire head, I took a little more of the Smoothing Oil and went over my roots and edges and ends again, just to add a little more shine (as if it really needed anymore lol).

Final Thoughts:

And again, I LOVE!!!!!!!

You know what I like about these products? They soak into my strands very very well but at the same time, I feel like they're light enough to allow my hair to dry within a day.

As I was applying these products, my hair was just incredibly soft like instantaneously!! I could just feel how moist my hair was and I really like that.

These products are also very slippery, they easily detangled through my hair and made it easy to really coat the hair with product. I guess that's why it's not really necessary to use globs and globs of the products because they soak in so well. It's like they're thick products but once you add a little body heat, it just melts right into your hands and makes it easier to glide through your hair. You do NOT need to use a lot of these products at all. I feel like if I were to go heavy handed with these products with how I would do any other product, my hair would probably feel like a big ol' glob of butter lol.

But I love that! Because THAT means, less product buying for me! ♥

I don't have any other products to compare these to honestly, so they automatically win a spot on my heart. I like the smoothing oil just to help add shine and I like it a little more because regular castor oil is a very thick oil. So I will probably use them interchangeably depending on how I want my hair to react. Lighter Oil for styling purposes, Heavier Oil for moisturizing purposes.

I am going to use these products throughout the next two weeks to see how my hair responds to them and ultimately, how it will make my twistout at the end of the week look. That will be the REAL review then. But so far, so good! I'm really digging Mystic Divine!!

Obviously, the prices are pretty steep but compared to other products that are around this price or higher.... the difference for me is that Mystic Divine is an easily accessible Drugstore Product so I don't have to pay shipping to get it. I get a LOT of usage out of each product and my hair really adores them. I've paid big money for hair items before and honestly, these 3 products really kind of complete my hair care regimen. I have my clay to wash my hair, and these 3 products to deep condition, moisturize and seal without having to bounce around from company to company.... (or website to website) to find combinations that work. What I truly love is that this entire line seems to be working for me. (How I LOATHE having to patch items together lol). Oh yeah, I'm a definite repurchaser!

But until next time,

♥ Keep calm 'n coily ♥
