Wrapping Up Cycle 2

So today started with rinsing out the deep conditioner and such. What I experienced with deep conditioning with a diluted conditioner is that it dries out faster. So technically my hair was still a bit damp but it wasn't really wet. Nevertheless, finger detangling wasn't the smoothest turn ever today, but it was not terrible either though I don't know how I feel about exclusively finger detangling... again. Lol

But before I hopped into the shower though, I did mix up my Moroccan clay before hand. This time I eliminated the honey and added a little Apple cider vinegar to help eliminate any stubborn mud lumps. This all went into my purple spray bottle as well. What I mixed up with 6 teaspoons of clay, 1 teaspoon of castor oil and 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar and shook it up vigorously and brought it into the shower as well.

After finger detangling which took me maybe 20 minutes instead of the 10 I was growing accustomed to, I kept my hair in 6 sections and then went on to spray in the clay. That process went extremely smooth though I'm still glad I applied it in the shower cause the muddy mists still got all over the shower walls.

After that I went on with my showerly duties with a plastic cap over my clay-covered Bantu knots. Then, like last time, I rinsed it out after I was finished (short on time people...). I scrubbed at my scalp to relieve the mud clay at the scalp.

This time though I wasn't so extremely impressed... my hair just doesn't seem to be defining after the clay aspect.

But even with that, the moisture level in my hair has been amazing!! I'm pretty sure I have a way to go when it comes to maximum hydration, but my hair has been incredibly moist here lately and I can't argue with that. Lol but anyways this is how my hair looked after the clay rinse. It's not the best for the bathroom was still foggy...

So next was the moisturizing and sealing process. First thing was to collect my trusty products...

The picture of the product is how much I have left AFTER today's use mind you. And so I proceeded to dilute my leave in. I think I use about 1-1.5 ounces of leave in and the rest water.

Yes I took lots of pointless pictures and did lots of pointless editing. #iamnotashamed

So with that I proceeded to moisturize section by section wetting down with the leave in spray and then applying a small amount of gel. I literally use this much gel in all sections of hair...

And here is a visual process on that...

I did that all over until the final result was this...

Seriously feeling those curls...

Lol!! And so I attempted to allow it to airdry to keep it at it's healthiest but I hate having wet hair constantly slapping me in the face. Not a fan, man. So I found my diffuser attachment and had at it. I didn't blowdry it completely dry but maybe 80% of the way there. It was dry enough to pull back into a beautiful coily low puff!

I think I'll stretch this until Saturday night and then restart the process for day 3. As of now I'm not really seeing a difference in my curls, but the moisture retention and thickness of my hair is motivation to keep on for right now. Honestly, I don't know if my hair can become anymore defined then this. Maybe it's just a poofier curl... I don't know. Don't really care right now as long as it gets longer, I can't argue with the system!! Stay tuned for day 3!!
