An Awesome Braidout!!

So I had my wash day and everything, and over the course of a couple of days, my hair airdried completely into about 12 twists, 6 on each side. So I decided to try for a braidout again since it's been awhile since I done one that I really liked....well, besides my 16-braid braidout.

So I used these products to style:

  • Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine Leave In Conditioner
  • ORS Loc and Twist Gel
  • Avocado Butter

In that order. I ended up with 14 braids, 7 on each side. I will also say that before applying the garnier, I did spritz each section with water before braiding and after applying the garnier I did detangle with my wide tooth shower comb. Then applied the ors loc and twist gel and then the avocado butter and then braided up each section and then about an inch from the bottom, twisted all the way down. Pretty average braidout.

The next early morning (since I have to be to work by 6), I took down the braids using nothing. I must say the braidout was SOOOOOO soft and fluffy and so well defined! It was AWESOME!!! I absolutely loved everything about this braidout.

But throughout the day it started to shrink up more (due alot to the humidity) and eventually I just pulled it back into a ponypuff. It was still very defined but then catching the bus in the mouth of the sun just totally made the definition I have poof away. lol By the time I got home and took down my ponypuff, it was nothing but a big poofy mess! lol So I ended up braiding up my hair again in 7 big braids, no products added.

See, this is why I don't usually wear my hair loose during the summer time. It's so liable to just poof up. I must admit most days I like it, but I just hate how oily it makes my face especially in the summer. Just like the grease runs out of my hair and down my face or something which is why I like to keep my hair in some sort of protective style or something. That sun is BRUTAL man. lol

As for now, thinking about just going back into yarn braids for now. I did purple/pink/brown highlights last time. I'm thinking about doing dark blue and brown highlights this time but....who knows. We'll just have to see for now. :)
