From the previous post, I had finished 3 sections in the very front and today finished the rest. As for the parting, I did relatively small though I feel have to note that in the middle front section, after parting a row horizontally, I would alternate putting in a braid on each opposite end of the row until the entire row was finished.
Did that makes sense?
So say -------- that's the row. Then I would do a braid X-------- here then do a braid X--------X there, then continue with the XX------X, XX-------XX pattern. The only reason I did this was so that I wouldn't have a specific part down the middle of my head like I ALWAYS do and I gotta say, I may start doing my parts like this more often. I kinda like that look. =)
Style was exclusively finger detangled, apart from parting with a rattail comb. But honestly, I think I may go back to using my comb again cause I feel like my roots are trying to start matting or something and I don't like it. It's not that hard to part through my hair but...I dunno. I feel like it's trying to mesh or something.
But anyways, the braids are done. I did add in a brown color that I had lying around for awhile now to add some highlights. I only put them in the back since my hair is so long you can see the black bits halfway down the braid. lol So they only went in the back since it's easy to camoflauge, but I actually love it though. Didn't think I would.
The parting is smaller than how I'd normally do them but I must say I like them this small! It took me about 8-9 hours to install the yarn braids, 2 days for the entire wash day process. I'm hoping to keep them in for a good month though I would love to push for 2 months. Since they're smaller, I'm hoping they'll last longer, so we'll see what we end up with!
Maybe I should do a style diary of the yarn braids? Hmmm...I dunno. Stay tuned!
Keep it Calm 'n Coily!
